SIETAR Deutschland – Germany - Coordinator

As part of the worldwide association and network SIETAR – Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research – SIETAR Deutschland e.V. is proud to be the largest national organization for people working in the area of intercultural and international communication and management.

SIETAR Germany serves as a platform for professional and interdisciplinary dialogue concerning intercultural issues in science, economics, and the broader society. Our focus is on people interested in intercultural questions and challenges and who live or work in an intercultural context, be it daily-life activities or in research, training, consulting, education, and the media.

SIETAR Deutschland remains vibrant and alive through the involvement and diversity of its members. Our core concern is to improve the collaboration and coexistence of people from different backgrounds and cultures. We aim to give impulses, knowledge bites, and offer an opportunity for exchange to increase awareness for cooperation and leverage in a culturally heterogeneous society through various publications and activities. SIETAR Deutschland currently issues three different publications, organizes meetings, conferences, seminars, and workshops on intercultural topics at regular intervals.

With our experience in the development of training materials combined with our unique blended learning concept, Smart international Learning, we complement our face-to-face training with innovative learning formats to optimise the learning efficiency and sustainability of training content and competence.

I.B.I. Intercultural Business Improvement b.v. – Netherlands

Intercultural Business Improvement Ltd. (IBI) is a training and consulting company specialized in supporting clients to benefit from their cultural diversity and enhancing intercultural effectiveness of staff. Founded by Oscar van Weerdenburg and Ursula Brinkmann, PhD, the IBI team has gathered in-depth experience in designing and delivering intercultural learning interventions, face-to-face, online and blended. At IBI, we combine insights from research on cultural differences and intercultural competence development with a passion for developing interactive and practical learning interventions. When designing interventions with and for our clients, we draw on a world-wide network of intercultural professionals.

We developed the Intercultural Readiness Check (IRC), a leading intercultural assessment tool, which assesses a set of vital intercultural competences. Numerous organizations have used the IRC to foster their intercultural competence development, and more than 600 individuals and organizations are certified to work with the IRC. In Intercultural Readiness: Four competences for working across cultures (Palgrave), we present our approach to intercultural competence development and place the IRC competences in the broader context of diversity in teams and organizations.

Centrum Wspierania Edukacji i Przedsiębiorczości (CWEP) – Poland

Centrum Wspierania Edukacji i Przedsiębiorczości operates from 2004 conducting activities related to the support and promotion of modern education and entrepreneurship, scientific research and consulting, conducting training, publishing, marketing, consulting and advertising activities. The Association provides services to support education through the implementation of transnational education projects aimed at young people and the organization of training. It also runs a consulting support for companies operating in the Subcarpathian region and Lesser Poland region and implements investment projects aimed at improving the quality of business support services. The Association is active in the field of science, expressed in the commitment to research projects and conducting its own analyzes of society.

LABC – Italy

LABC is a company based in Torino (IT). LABC is a learning community, aiming to share and build upon the experience of professionals in the field of individual and community wellness, group-work, education and training, reintegration into labour market, project management.

LABC is enriched by pan-European collaborations, always adopting and promoting the principles of:

– collaborative learning: we exchange, improve and share experiences, resources and skills, in order to optimize international and intermodal collaborations, develop and transfer of methodologies and praxis

– generativity: we establish, support and guide the ability to create, generate and produce new psychological, social and educational tools, models and praxis, with the aim of spreading them freely throughout the community

LABC is active and experienced in:

# care work, individual and community well-being through a widespread range of activities, including group work sessions, supervisions, training, consultancy on management, organization of public events, lectures and seminars

# Education and Research by designing learning methodologies and implementing training materials and tools dedicated to improve the awareness of participants and recipients on topics of particular interest in psychological, educational, social and environmental fields.

Stichting Katholieke Universiteit Brabant – Netherlands

Tilburg University was founded in 1927, has over 17,000 students, of which 3,105 are international students from 110 nationalities, and over 1,100 academic staff (fte). Tilburg University ranked number 18 in the US News Best Global Universities Ranking in 2016.

Tilburg University has a culture of cooperation and co-creation, at local, regional, national and international level. We connect our own activities with those of other educational institutes, the business community, governments and civil society organizations and with our alumni at home and abroad. We seek the connection between the various disciplines in order to find solutions for the major issues that we as a society face.

We achieve this mainly by developing and transferring knowledge and bringing together people from various disciplines and organizations. In order to maximise our contribution to society, we have set up an impact program, focusing on the following three themes: Empowering a Resilient Society, Enhancing Health and Wellbeing and Creating Value from Data.  Tilburg University is hosting over 120 projects funded by the EU.

The Department of Social Psychology, in the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences consists of a vibrant mix of people interested in Social, Economic and Work & Organizational Psychology. Members of the department focus on inter-group relations, exclusion, diversity and cross-cultural themes, signified by members of the department being active in the IACCP (International Association for Cross-Cultural Psychology), NIP (Dutch Institute for Psychologists), cooperation with the Hofstede Centre, summer schools, grant activities (DAAD, NWO, etc.) and their work as editors and text book authors.
